Recently, attorney Brett O’Brien, Esq., founder of the National Security Law Firm, was asked to talk with NPR regarding Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira and his leaking of highly classified information.
Twenty-one-year-old Teixeira is accused of leaking numerous top-secret documents on the platform Discord as well as in other places. Discussed in the episode is how a federal employee in Teixeira’s position had access to such highly classified information, to begin with. Also discussed in the episode is the clearance process for federal employees, what types of classified information is available to federal employees in general, and what tools the federal government has to protect the integrity of classified information.
