Colonel (Retired) James C. “Jamey” Royse is a thirty-four year U.S. Army Veteran who continues to serve in the private sector as an Intelligence Subject Matter Expert (SME), National Security Strategist, Board Member, and Consultant at CACI International, Inc.’s Operations Support and Services sector. Jamey’s Army service began at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY where he was commissioned in the United States Army. He served tours in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East and South Asia, and in various locations within the United States, culminating at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. where he retired as a Colonel with over thirty years of active duty commissioned service. Immediately following Army retirement, he supported the Department of the Army Principal Cyber Advisor and later the Army Intelligence and Security Enterprise modernization in the Office of the Army Deputy Chief of Staff G-2 (Intelligence). He now serves on the Board of GlassWall Support Services, Inc., as a Senior Solution Design Consultant and Intelligence SME for CACI International, Inc. and as an Advisory Board Member for the National Security Law Firm, LLC.
Jamey’s Army service was in a variety of command, leadership and staff positions in both Armor and Military Intelligence (MI) assignments in conventional and special operations units. Highlights included M1A1 Tank Platoon Leader; MI Company and Battalion Command; Command of a Theater MI Brigade; Aviation and Armor Brigade Combat Team Intelligence Staff Director (S-2); Joint Special Operations Task Force Intelligence Director (J-2) for Joint Special Operations Task Force Philippines; Combined Joint Intelligence Operations and Plans Director (CJ2 Ops) at the multinational operational maneuver headquarters in Afghanistan; Operations Director at the National Security Agency Texas cryptologic and cyber operations center; Assistant V Corps G2; Chief of Intelligence War Plans at Mechanized Division, an Army Service Component Headquarters, and a Theater Special Operations Command. He served as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2 (Intelligence) at US Army Central (Third Army) focused on Middle East regional security and then as Army the Chief of the Army Hard Target Strategies Division in the Department of the Army G-2 staff focused on intelligence community collaboration of the Nation’s most intractable intelligence concerns.
He completed all leadership, intelligence, and combat skill courses required for his specialty and assignments and is a distinguished graduate of the Army’s prestigious School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) and the U.S. Army War College, including the Advanced Strategic Art Program. He was in the 2017 Army’s Senior Leader Seminar. His numerous Army awards and decorations correspond to his years of senior leadership and combat experience.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Soviet Foreign Area Studies and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the United States Army Command and General Staff College School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Jamey now resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and their daughter. His son is a University of Kansas student, and his oldest daughter is a US Marine Corps helicopter pilot.
