Of Counsel

Former Army Judge Advocate, National Security & Military Law Attorney for U.S. Army FORSCOM, and Fortune 500 Employment Counsel

John McGuire has spent his career advising military commanders, senior organizational leaders, and corporate decision-makers on investigations, personnel matters, employment issues, compliance obligations, and organizational risk.

After commissioning as an Army officer, John served on active duty as a Judge Advocate, where he built extensive experience as both a military prosecutor and defense counsel. His litigation skills and legal judgment led to his appointment as acting Trial Counsel for the 75th Ranger Regiment, where he handled significant military justice matters, investigations, nonjudicial punishment proceedings, and courts-martial involving one of the Army’s most elite organizations.

John later served as the Operational Law Attorney and Rule of Law Advisor for the 10th Mountain Division during a deployment to Afghanistan before ultimately becoming the National Security and Military Law Attorney for U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), one of the largest commands in the United States Army. In that role, he advised senior military leaders on national security matters, military law issues, command investigations, personnel actions, and other high-profile matters affecting Army operations worldwide.

Following his active-duty service, John served as in-house counsel for multiple Fortune 500 companies, focusing on labor and employment law, workplace investigations, regulatory compliance, personnel actions, and organizational risk management. His experience advising both military and corporate leadership provides him with a unique perspective on how decision-makers evaluate allegations, conduct investigations, assess credibility, and resolve complex personnel issues.

John’s experience gives clients valuable insight into the processes that often drive military, employment, and administrative decisions. Having advised leaders responsible for making difficult personnel and organizational decisions, he understands not only the legal issues involved in a case, but also the practical realities that frequently influence outcomes.

Today, John represents service members, federal employees, contractors, and private-sector professionals facing military law matters, employment disputes, investigations, administrative actions, security-related concerns, and other high-stakes legal challenges.
